: Burn
Station brings net culture, net music and net radio down to the streets,
converting P2P and Net distribution into A F2F-Face to Face system.
Burn station is an open source and a non-commercial project involving
the new means of free networked distribution.
We thus invite net labels and net radios to participate and provide us
with a list or a catalog of the files they would like to share as well
as further Information or other material they deem important. They can
submit details about their history, their philosophy and their policy
concerning copyrights.
Burn
station is based on the burn_station software, developed by PLATONIQ and
RAMA with the support of the f30kms fundation. It is 100% free software
and it is freely available under the aire incondicional licence, drawn
up by platoniq.
The burn_station software/database is designed to store, manage, distribute
and publish audio files (and soon video and text files).
The burn_station beta release-party was held on September the 2d 2004
during the 6st Werkleitz Biennale (Halle, Germany) whose theme was Common
property.
Since
2003 Burn station goes mobile.
Burn station has converted itself into a mobile self-service distributor.
Packed up in a van, it travels through suburban spaces such as parcs and
parking places, festivals, gas station... and is set on display for the
audience's free use.
People are invited to bring their cds, to listen, to edit and to burn
their own compilations, the whole process being LEGAL AND FREE OF CHARGE.
Actions and live net+FM radio broadcasts are set up around the van.
Burn_station
software has been tested, shared and further developed in the streets
before being published on the net. The release of each new version will
be an oportunity to meet and party to stand up for your copyleft rights! |
