: The
Media Space invaders project is a mobile-workshop/meeting comprising
of talks, debates, projections and actions and is held every year
in Barcelona.
The second edition of Media space invaders is about the repolitization
of public space through the social use of technology and radical/critical
architecture. Central themes are urban movements, migrations and
civil participation in the city.
Media space invaders 2 focused on the realisation of a bus tour
passing trough the Raval and Poblenou districts and other controversial
"barrios" and Barcelona's periphery, all being hot spots
of urbanistic, cultural and political debates where we've been working
the last three years.
The tour, which we called the Co-op Tour, is in itself an on going
process of mapping the micropolitics of a city showing the tensions,
confrontations and skirmishes beetween the governement and the governed.
In each tour stops, debates, reports, actions and live fm/internet
via wireless nodes and local tv broadcasts were set up to help coordinate
and publicize the actions of neighbours , activists and architects
involved in social movements. A pirate tv (coop-tv) workshop was
run simultaneously.
A document will be published later this year.
